Termite Constructor
Architectural construction processes are a direct consequence to our ability to design forms that best articulate site information and context. However among biologists ‘design’ refers to a particular coherence between living structures and the function it performs. Though there is a similarity in the approach to design, the holistic nature of design is apparent in mound architecture, however not so vivid in man-made processes of architecture design.

Issue
The difference can be articulated in the top-down approach to design which is disconnected to a material’s function. Material assembly in architectural design is a result of design implemented by the architect, whom focuses on the pre-existing understanding of geometric forms and shapes, but rarely incorporates material behaviour to define ‘when’ and ‘how’ to build.
Proposal
The question as stated in the description, is explored through the fabrication and utilisation of digital tools to convey a digital design workflow that encompasses the environmental conditions and material properties, to define the ‘how’ and ‘when’ to construct, and incorporated it into the conceptual design phase of an architectural construction process
